Delhi today reported 32 new coronavirus cases, with its total rising to 152. Of these, 29 are linked to the Nizamuddin congregation that was attended by thousands of people. In its biggest spike till date, India over the past 24 hours recorded 386 new cases of coronavirus, with the total now standing at 1,637. The death toll currently stands at 38, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in its daily briefing. "132 people have recovered. The number of positive cases have gone up since yesterday. One of the main reasons for it is the travel by members of Tablighi Jamaat," said Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary in the ministry.

Thirty people who attended the Tabligh-e-Jamaat event in south Delhi’s Nizamuddin, now identified as a Covid-19 hotspot, have been placed under quarantine in Pune while 12 are ib quarantine in Karnataka even as other states make a rush for contact tracing to identify possible positive cases.
