Coronavirus  LIVE Updates: A 40-year-old woman died in Maharashtra today, taking the death toll in the state due to the novel coronavirus to 7. The number of cases in India is inching close to the 1,000-mark with the Union Health Ministry pegging the figure at 979. A total of 25 people have died due to the pandemic that has infected more than 6 lakh people globally.

Modi said there was a need to fight the illness before it takes its toll. “Coronavirus has imprisoned the world... it has affected all... old, young... weak and strong. Whole of humanity needs to come together and fight this crisis,” he added.

Houston Hospital First in US to Try Coronavirus Blood Transfusion Therapy | A prominent US hospital here has infused the blood of a patient, who has recovered from COVID-19, into a critically ill patient, becoming the first medical facility in the country to try the experimental therapy. The individual, who has been in good health for more than two weeks since being diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus, donated the blood plasma for what is known as the convalescent serum therapy at the Houston Methodist Hospital.


Iran-returned Indians Shifted from Delhi to Jodhpur on IndiGo and SpiceJet Aircraft | SpiceJet and IndiGo aircraft took 275 Indians, who were recently evacuated from coronavirus-hit Iran, from Delhi to Jodhpur for quarantine today. "Operation Namaste! Efforts to safeguard Indian citizens against Covid19 continue," Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a tweet. "The 275 Indians who were evacuated from Iran have been screened & shifted by IndiGo and SpiceJet aircraft to Army Wellness Centre at Jodhpur for quarantine," he added.
